Georgina Solaz and Rubén Amo, members of the EvalPub research group, defended their doctoral theses at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Valencia.

The first defence took place on Thursday 14 May in the Ignasi Villalonga Room, located on the first floor of the Faculty of Economics. Georgina Solaz presented her doctoral thesis, entitled “Evaluation of Public Policies: Three Essays on Health, Care and Family”, supervised by Professors Teresa Savall and Amadeo Fuenmayor.

For his part, Rubén Amo defended his doctoral thesis on Friday 15 May in the Manuel Sánchez Ayuso Room, also located on the first floor of the Faculty of Economics. His thesis, entitled “Wealth taxation: microsimulation of reforms in Spain”, was supervised by Professors Rafael Granell and Amadeo Fuenmayor.

Both research projects fell within EvalPub’s main areas of work, which focus on public policy evaluation, public economics and the analysis of fiscal and social reforms. These defences marked the culmination of the two researchers’ doctoral studies and reflected the group’s commitment to research training and the generation of knowledge applied to the design and evaluation of public policies.
