Rubén Amo Cifuentes is currently working as a pre-doctoral researcher in training (FPU) in the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Valencia. He is also a PhD student in the Industrial Economics programme at the University of Valencia. His doctoral thesis is supervised by Professors Rafael Granell and Amadeo Fuenmayor. He collaborates with the research group Public Economic Evaluation (EvalPub) and the Chair of Autonomous Taxation, both at the University of Valencia.
As for his studies, Rubén holds a degree in Economics from the University of Valencia, having received the Extraordinary Degree Award 2020. He has also completed a Master in Economic Policy and Public Economics at the University of Valencia.
His line of research is based on Public Economics and Fiscal Federalism, specifically on impact assessment and micro-simulation of wealth taxes. He has a first publication with his editors in the journal Investigaciones Regionales, which addresses the current situation of wealth taxation in Spain and carries out an ex ante analysis of the recent Temporary Solidarity Tax on Large Fortunes.
He has participated in different national and international congresses as a speaker presenting the advances of his research related to the evaluation of wealth taxes in Spain, specifically wealth tax and the recent tax on large fortunes. He has also participated as a researcher and collaborator in contracts carried out for different public administrations.
