Mauro Mediavilla is a lecturer in the Department of Applied Economics at the Universitat de València, associate researcher at the Barcelona Institute of Economics (IEB) and the European Foundation Society and Education. Member of the research group on Public Economic Evaluation (EVALPUB). PhD in Economics (2011). José Luís Moreno Becerra Prize for the best doctoral thesis in Economics of Education (2013). He is currently president of the Economics of Education Association (AEDE). His main areas of interest are the determinants of academic performance and the evaluation of educational public policies. He has been a consultant at the Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (UNESCO) and has been hired as an advisor in the Prometeo programme of the government of Ecuador (period 2014-2015) and in the European Commission's Expenditure Review Programme for Spain (Airef, period 2018 - 2019). She has also been part of the committee of experts for the review of grants in Spain that advises the Save the Children Foundation. She has spent time in different prestigious universities and research centres in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Denmark, Ecuador, Hong Kong, Latvia, United Kingdom and Romania. She has also participated in different competitive projects at national and regional level continuously since 2005. Finally, he has more than 70 publications in indexed journals, books and book chapters.
