Nerea Gómez holds a PhD in Statistics and is Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Valencia. Previously, she studied the Degree in Economics and was awarded by the Ministry of Universities with the National End of Degree Award in University Education in the branch of Social Sciences.

She is a member of the research group Public Economic Evaluation (EvalPub) and of the Chair of Regional Taxation. His main areas of research are Economics of Education and applied macroeconomics, highlighting the following lines: determinants of academic performance, use of ICT in education and application of statistical techniques for the evaluation of the economic and social effects of macroeconomic policies. She has published articles in various scientific journals, including Socio-Economic Planning Sciences, Journal of Economic Policy Reform and Revista de Educación.

She has been a visiting researcher at the London School of Economics and Policy Science (LSE) in the UK. She has also been a researcher on projects and contracts with various organisations such as the Centro de Investigaciones Sociológicas, Fundación Banco Sabadell, Fundación Alternativas and the European Commission.
