María Dolores Furió analyses the keys to the Spanish electricity market

On 26 April the Director General of Economic Model, Autonomous Financing and Financial Policy of the Generalitat Valenciana and lecturer at the Universitat de València, María Dolores Furió, gave a lecture on electricity in the national framework.

The Sánchez Ayuso Hall of the Faculty of Economics was the venue for the lecture given by the lecturer from the Department of Financial and Actuarial Economics on Tuesday 26 April at 12:30 pm.

This talk was organised by the Chair of Economic Taxation – of the Universitat de València and the Department of Finance and Economic Model – in collaboration with the Department of Applied Economics, with the aim of encouraging reflection on the electricity system in Spain; among other factors, competitiveness and indicators of abuse of market power were examined and their application to the case of Spain.

María Dolores Furió holds a PhD in Economics and Business Administration from the Universitat de València and a degree in Actuarial and Financial Sciences from the same university. She has spent most of her professional career at the Universitat de València, where she is a lecturer in the Department of Financial and Actuarial Economics at the Faculty of Economics of the UV.

She is also a member of the Board of Experts for the Multiannual Financing Plan for Universities and of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Association of Energy Economics. He is also a member of the editorial board of Papeles de Energía, a journal published by Funcas. Prior to her work linked to teaching, she was director of the Valencia Citrus and Commodities futures market department and worked at the Fundación de Estudios Bursátiles y Financieros, among others.
