Next Friday, 7 November 2025, starting at 9:00 a.m., the Faculty of Economics of the University of Valencia will host the First Valencian Economics of Education Conference, which will be held in the Manuel Sánchez Ayuso Hall.
The event will bring together leading international and national researchers to debate education policies from the perspective of public economics. The programme includes presentations by experts from institutions such as the London School of Economics, the University of Maryland and the European Commission, alongside contributions from researchers affiliated with the University of Valencia.
Mauro Mediavilla, a researcher with the EvalPub group, will take part in both the opening session and the closing of the event. Doctoral candidates Paula Ballester and Rubén Baeza, also members of the group, will likewise play active roles: Paula Ballester as chair of the second session, and Rubén Baeza as speaker in the third session, where he will present a paper on the effects of higher education on the labour market integration of the immigrant population.
The conference represents a key forum for reflection on how education policy decisions affect the equity and efficiency of the system, drawing on empirical evidence to address issues of particular significance for contemporary public economics.
