In the interview, Mauro Mediavilla discusses the effect of grade repetition on student performance.
Mauro Mediavilla was interviewed for Noticias Cuatro to address the recent evolution of grade repetition in Spain and to evaluate its effect on the education system.
Mauro argues that repeating a grade does not improve the results of students who do not pass, as it leads to students who are not motivated and are much more disruptive in the classroom. In Spain, 30% of 15-year-old students have repeated at least once.
