The study examines the situation of cultural and creative enterprises and the significant difficulties they face in accessing funding, which hinder their sustainable development and the transition towards more robust models of cultural creation. Traditionally, available financial resources have been mainly earmarked for specific projects, without adequately addressing the need to support sustainable structures aligned with impact investment.
Impact investment, a global trend that seeks to combine financial profitability with the generation of positive social or environmental impacts, shows significant potential for growth in the Spanish cultural sector, although it is still at an early stage. This study aims to analyse the demand and needs for funding in this sector, differentiating between public and private sources, and assessing its viability in attracting impact investment.
Specific objectives are: to design and apply a questionnaire to assess the economic situation of the sector, to carry out a detailed analysis of the financing market, to identify unmet needs and to propose recommendations aimed at improving access to financial resources. This approach seeks to promote sustainability and strengthen the accessibility of the cultural and creative sector in Spain.
