Abstract:

Undoubtedly, public expenditure on the environment is one of the least exploited areas of public sector analysis. It is very difficult to find references at both national and international level, and most of the analyses carried out focus on very specific aspects. Our general aim in this paper is to improve the characterisation of this type of expenditure and then apply the advances achieved to the data available for the Spanish case.
