Luis E. Vila is a Doctor in Economic and Business Sciences, and Professor of Quantitative Methods in the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Valencia. His research is oriented towards the development of methods of quantitative analysis in regional economics, the economics of education and the economics of culture. He has participated as a researcher in 10 projects financed by the National Research Plan (2 as Principal Investigator) and 7 projects financed by the European Union in the Framework Programs, ALFA II, ALFA III and INTEREG. He has also been a researcher responsible for contracts with the European Commission, the Government of Spain, the Generalitat Valenciana, and organizations such as Cedefop, ANECA, OEI, AECID, FEMP, Instituto Cervantes and Ibermuseos. He has published numerous articles in scientific journals such as the Journal of Productivity Analysis, Economics of Education Review, Environment and Planning A, European Journal of Education, Education Economics, International Journal of Manpower, Technological and Economic Development of Economy, Journal of Higher Education, Evaluation Review and Revista de Educacion among others.
